I took this at the park behind our house. The lorikeet kept flapping out his wings as if he was showing off for the camera. As soon as I turned my back to leave, he left also.
This photo was taken over looking the valley below the buried village near Lake Rotomahana, Rotorua New Zeland. The steam in the background is thermal activity. The village was buried early last century in an eruption of Mt Tarawera. I climbed Mt Tarawera on my 12th birthday when we lived in Rotorua.
