I'm particularly pleased with this shot. Not only was the kayak around 50-60 metres away it was on dusk and in low light and I was shooting from within a bird hide. The kayak was also moving quite rapidly as this photo was taken so I am happy to have framed it well and anticipated where the kayak was going to be to compensate for the slow shutter speed.
The speed was fast enough to have captured the water droplets falling from the paddle blade, yet slow enough to get the colour of the sunset reflected in the water. The lady kayaking also chose this moment to by chance look directly at the camera.
